Our Vision

That our community achieves a more complete understanding of Fairy Lake and its surroundings through participation, discovery, and stewardship for its safety, protection, and preservation.

Our mandate:

  • To foster a community through active membership participation

  • To implement various community events and incentives focused on and around the lake

  • To ensure water is regularly monitored and tested to mitigate any water quality issues

  • To encourage and promote the maintenance and creation of natural shorelines that support a healthy lake environment

  • To advocate for environmentally sustainable land development

  • To sensibly manage the association’s finances for present and future longevity

  • To be transparent in our decision-making and cognizant of sharing relevant information with our community

  • To liaise with other lake allies to garner support, leverage knowledge, and expertise

Fairy Lake stretches nearly 10 kilometres, with a perimeter of approximately 22 kilometres and a maximum depth of just under 70 meters. Together with three connecting lakes—Vernon, Peninsula, and Mary—it provides about 60 kilometres of interconnected waterways for boating.

In his book This River the Muskoka, Gary Long aptly describes Fairy Lake as having “picturesque expanses of ruffled blue waters cradled between steep, rolling hills – fantastic scenery in the autumn, and has an extra element of ruggedness from islands that thrust rocky pine-clad summits high above the water.”
