Regatta Master

The Regatta Master is an exciting volunteer role that will bring the Fairy Lake Regatta to life! You’ll guide the planning and coordination of this new event, helping create a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved. It’s a fantastic chance to contribute your ideas and energy to a celebration that captures the spirit of the FLA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Location management: With support from the FLA Event Director, coordinate logistics at the chosen location, including parking, bathroom access, tents, seating, and boat launch arrangements.

  • Planning: Develop a detailed plan outlining volunteer roles and responsibilities, including registration, parking management, unloading, boat launching, safety boats, food, entertainment, and scoring. Create age-appropriate race categories and a clear, organized event schedule.

  • Communicate and Prepare: Work with the FLA Communications Director to share event details, registration information, race categories, and rules with participants. Gather and prepare materials such as flags, buoys, horns, radios, a PA system, etc. Connect with other Huntsville chain lakes to gather insights and feedback to refine the plan and process.
